Our Artistic Director - Ken Goodenberger
KEN GOODENBERGER, Artistic Director and Conductor, has been a prominent member of the musical scene in Phoenix for over 35 years. He is active as a conductor, choral clinician, voice teacher, actor and singer. Mr. Goodenberger currently serves as Director of Music at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church in Sun City West, and is the Artistic Director of the West Valley Chorale. Ken is also an experienced Music Director in theatre, having received several ariZoni nominations and awards. Last fall, he music directed Mary Poppins and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, both at Theater Works. He is the Artistic Director of Showcase Concerts Inc., which includes Royal Renaissance Singers and OperAntics. Through those education groups, he brings music of all styles to audiences numbering in the thousands. Ken is also well known as a singer and an actor in both Musical Theatre and Opera circles with many credits, including: Follies (Roscoe), A Little Night Music (Fredrik), Into the Woods (Narrator/Mysterious Man), Camelot (King Arthur), Sweeney Todd (Judge Turpin), West Side Story (Tony), Faust (Faust), Tosca (Cavaradossi), La Boheme (Rodolfo). and originating the role of Judkins in the world premier of Craig Bohmler’s Opera “Riders on the Purple Sage” at AZ Opera.
